May is the start of an extremely busy season for my family. We have back-to-back graduations, christenings and weddings-which means I have very little time to find different outfits for all of these occasions. Even though spring hasn’t officially started, I’ve already begun my spring cleaning ritual. This consists of turning my house up-side-down in an attempt to declutter my life. I have countless bags of clothing, shoes and accessories that are ready to be donated to a few local charities.
My next task will be to go through my collection of wigs and hairpieces. I do this about three to four times a year since the average lifespan of a wig is about three months (with everyday use). I donate my gently used wigs to a local breast cancer organization. They refurbish the wigs and give them to women experiencing medical hair loss. This is a great way to make room for new styles while helping a great cause!

Hairstylist Andre Walker has been tending to Oprah Winfrey’s tresses since 1985. If you’re anything like me, you’re probably wondering how the Chicago salon owner got the gig. Big Love actress Ginnifer Goodwin has admitted to InStyle that she demands the right to wear wigs in all of her contracts.
Ginnifer says, “I now have a wig clause written into every one of my contracts. Thank goodness I can procure wigs, whether I buy them or the production buys them, I always do wear a wig.”
She goes on to say that she finds it hard to express herself when she has to grow out a bad haircut for a role. She adds, “As long as I can wear a wig, I can be any character and in real life I can be myself.”
Ginnifer is currently sporting a pixie cut with the sides shaved (shown right), while her character, Margene (shown far right) has a flippy, shoulder-length style.

Sunday night’s 83rd Annual Academy Awards were full of gorgeous gowns, beautiful updos, and smooth strands. A popular look that swept the red carpet was 60′s inspired hair do’s as shown on Actresses Nicole Kidman, Sharon Stone, Michelle Williams, and Reese Witherspoon (right).
My favorite two looks of the night were from Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, who both worked retro ponytails with plenty of volume at the crown.
Kidman was channeling French model, Brigitte Bardot with her playful ponytail. This subtle look was achieved by teasing the crown for volume. I suggest using a volumizer to attain this look in order to avoid causing any unnecessary damage to your hair.
Witherspoon also flaunted a ponytail that was attained by using extensions. I suggest using a hairpiece like the Sleek Length Stretch-a-Comb Hairpiece instead of extensions to get a long, sleek look.
